Christosimvuli Monastery
Description:
Christosimvuli Monastery is one of the few active monasteries in Cyprus where monks still live. Although the monastery is open to tourists, it is very rare to see novices there. The monastery itself is located in the village of Akrotiri, near Limmassol and Paphos. At the monastery there is a church, which is considered the most revered and holiest place on the island. Every year the monastery of Christosimvuli and the church of St. George becomes a space for pilgrims from all over the world.
To get to the monastery, you can navigate the nearby military base, the roof of which is similar to a white golf ball. You can also take a bus from Paphos or Limassol to the village of Akrotiri, and then walk a few kilometers.
