Larnaca fort
Description:
This fort is located near the beautiful embankment of the city. It is actually a small fortress, perfectly preserved to this day. The fort may well claim the status of the main city attraction. At least this is evidenced by the popularity of tourists.
The fort was built in the 17th century. And up until the 20th century, residents actually used it for its intended purpose. After the First World War, the fort became a prison. There were executions. However, today it performs a purely cultural function, being a museum. It is also sometimes used as a theatre.
