Cypriot villages are the guardians of time. Departure from Limassol
Description:
It is a shame when a visitor sees only a hotel and sea in Cyprus. Mountains, small villages, ancient temples, wineries - that's what it is worth to travel around the island. In this tour we will visit the villages where there are not too many tourists and still keep the charm of ancient Cyprus. Narrow streets winding between houses with blue doors and shutters. Gardens that are always in flowers. Old women doing needlework. A stone-paved village square descending directly to the temple. These are the villages of Cyprus. Having visited them at least once, you can not resist their simple charm, silence and hospitality of the villagers.
Just 20-30 minutes drive from modern civilization are these ancient villages, passing through the streets of which you will see craftsmen creating elegant jewelry from silver, potters, grandmothers, cooking jams from carrots, cucumbers, walnuts, women working on ancient looms... Most of these custodians of ancient traditions are now many years old. On this trip you will have the chance to meet them in person and see how unique works of art will be created before your eyes!

The village of Lofu is the very embodiment of peace and tranquility. In the evening, the light of street lamps is bizarrely intertwined with the silent glow of the stars and the moon. This is an amazing, fascinating picture that you will not see anywhere else!
Our route will run in the area called the “Wine Villages of Limassol”. Magnificent landscapes, cozy villages, local products and incredible adventures await us along the way. In this region, 23 varieties of grapes are grown, and each winery is a separate world. Today you will understand the special meaning of the phrase “taste of Cyprus”. We will take a look at the family winery "Karseras", which specializes in the production of the famous national wine of Commandaria. This wine is a legend not only of Cyprus, but also of the world winemaking.
Both the local population and tourists from all over the world come to try and buy traditional Cypriot sweets from Katerina. The modern factory produces absolutely natural products, without preservatives, paints and other additives, is made according to ancient recipes. About Cypriot culture and hospitality will tell "sweetness in a spoon" - a traditional Greek custom to treat guests with jam.
You will not leave indifferent a walk in the village of Lanier. This is a unique picturesque corner of traditional Cypriot life, where men and women, the local father, look at you from banners made from ancient photos of local residents. And you're already among them. You can freely go to the English artist in the courtyard of his house, because there is a whole art gallery, see an old wine press, a shoemaker’s workshop, a church in the center of the village with a miraculous icon inside.
After such a walk, it is time to settle down more conveniently in the village tavern, taste traditional dishes of Cypriot cuisine.
