Behind the port of Limassol, against the backdrop of modern high-rise buildings, lies a city of ancient workshops and markets. The majestic castle, built during the Lusignan dynasty, is surrounded by thin minarets of mosques built during the Ottoman rule, Byzantine churches, narrow shopping streets and many cafes, bars and restaurants.

At a short distance from the highway in the area of Episkopi is the castle of Colossi. The castle was built in the 14th century to replace the old defensive structure erected by the Knights of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem. Near the castle are the ruins of an old sugar factory.

Temple of Apollo - Hilatsky, the majestic sanctuary of the god of forests, is located next to the road Limassol-Paphos. The buildings are dated to the 2nd century N. E. Widely spread the cult of the god Apollo was in the region of present Limassol, at least from the 8th century BC.

These components of the overall landscape are pleasantly contrasted with each other and create extraordinary beauty views, truly worthy of the artist’s brush.
