The colorful national village of Kato Dris is located between the three main cities of Cyprus. This village has existed since the Byzantine period and is considered the birthplace of St. Neophyte the reclusive. The picturesque place is ideal for agrotourism. Quiet measured village life will open in the village museum.
In recent years of rapid development, Larnaca has become a tourist resort. The largest part of Larnaca stands on the site of the ancient city-state - Kition. Here was born the outstanding philosopher of antiquity - Zeno (335-263 BC). The embankment of Larnaca, known as “Finiculides”, got this name in honor of the slender palm trees that adorn it. At the end of the palm-lined road you can see the Turkish fortress - "Larnaca Castle". Now it houses an exhibition hall with finds from ancient Kition and other areas of the island.
The pearl of Larnaca is the Church of St. Lazarus, which dates from the end of the IX century. The Church of St. Lazarus bears the name and preserves the relics described in the New Testament, Lazarus of Bethany, whom Jesus raised from the dead. According to legend, some time after the Resurrection of Christ, Lazarus was forced to flee to Cyprus because of persecution in Judea and an attempt on his life. In Cyprus, Paul and Barnabas appointed him the first bishop of Kition (now Larnaca). It is said that he lived here for more than thirty years and was buried here in Cyprus. The Church of St. Lazarus was built over the famous tomb of Lazarus.
Four kilometers from Larnaca is the monastery of Tekke Hala Sultan - one of the most revered shrines in the Muslim world. The mosque, built in honor of the aunt of the Prophet Muhammad, is surrounded by lush greenery and is a particularly picturesque sight from the salt lake.
The salt lakes of Larnaca are a famous landmark of Cyprus. These reservoirs, in addition to their picturesque beauty, are a nature reserve and a haven for 85 species of waterfowl.
Today, Ayia Napa is one of the most popular resort settlements of the island, although it has been a few years since Ayia Napa was a simple fishing village, the only attraction of which was the monastery of the 16th century. The picturesque sandy beaches of Ayia Napa attract numerous tourists here. Eight kilometers east of Ayia Napa is also the famous resort town of Protaras.
Feel the magic of nature on the way to Cape Greco. Here you will see the largest natural bridge in Cyprus. It is one of the most romantic and inspiring places in this area. It is also called the “Bridge of Lovers”. We also have a love arch and sea caves. Blue Lagoon with its clear water will open the underwater world while swimming. And near the church of Agia Anargyri we will enjoy the stunning seaside scenery.
Well, at the end of our trip we will look at a rather sad view of the ghost town - Famagusta. The history of the tragedy, the war of 1974 and the division of the island will be clear before our eyes.
