Famous monasteries of Cyprus

At the beginning of our trip, we will visit the monastery of the Holy Cross, founded in the III century, where you can touch a particle of the Bond of Christ, a particle of the Life-Creating Cross and the head of the Apostle Philip.

In the men’s monastery of Trooditissa, the miraculous Belt of the Virgin is kept, known for miracles of healing from infertility and serious diseases. Here believers come to pray near the miraculous icon of the Virgin Trooditissa, to attach to the life-giving icon of the Virgin Oranta and to the icon of the patron saint of children - St. Stylianos. If necessary, you can wear the Belt of the Virgin and read a prayer for the birth of a healthy child.

In the cozy convent of Trikukya, we will be met by nun Seraphim, who took the name of the great Russian saint during her tonsure. Here is a treat prepared by the hands of nuns. Here you will be able to touch the miraculous image of the Mother of God.

Then we will receive the main monastery of Cyprus Kykkos, where the life-giving icon of the Virgin, painted by St. Luke during the life of the Virgin Mary, and the myrrh-flowing icon of Otrada and Consolation are stored. Here you can touch the relics of Christian saints: Nicholas the Wonderworker, George the Victorious, Equal-to-the-Apostles Helena and Constantine, icon painter Luke, John the Baptist. You can also visit the museum of Byzantine icons.

The monastery of healer John Lampadiste is under the protection of UNESCO and is considered one of the most beautiful in Cyprus. It has preserved not only a medieval architectural ensemble, but also magnificent wall paintings - frescoes. Here you can touch the relics of the healer John.

All the monasteries are in the Troodos Mountains. You will find an amazingly picturesque journey through the most protected and incredibly beautiful corners of Cyprus!
