About the company:

The Regional Archaeological Museum of Limassol is located next to the city park. Previously, the expositions were housed in the castle of Limassol, but in 1975 they were moved to a modern building. The museum consists of three large halls and an atrium connected by corridors. Here are collected interesting archaeological finds of the surroundings of Limassol from primitive times to the era of the Roman Empire.

The first hall presents the most ancient finds of the Neolithic and Bronze Age, found in inhabited caves of the Akrotiri district. Here are the first ceramic products, without traditional painting, ancient tools and stone idols. The first bronze and copper weapons are made with stunning jewelry elegance and precision. On the handles of swords and scabbards made decorative images of sacred animals.

In the second hall are exhibited later ivory jewelry, Roman coins and fragile colored glass products. In the third room are the most valuable finds that were brought from other regions. Here you can see the Egyptian statue of the god Bes, the statue of Artemis of Amathus. Here you can also see other fragments of the statue, testifying to the influence of Greek, Egyptian and other civilizations on the traditions of Cyprus.
