Excursion on the southeastern coast of Cyprus: a trip to the most beautiful beaches of the island

Our wonderful journey will begin at the snow-white shores of Alamanos Beach. Alamanos Beach is located near the monastery of St. George (Alamanos). This wild corner is famous for its white cliffs made of limestone. This unusual color is due to the fact that the rock consists of pure crystals of calcium carbonate. Huge stones against the background of clear water shake shining white. During sunset, the rocks become yellowish in color, and at dawn acquire a pink hue. The wild and untouched beauty of this beach attracts numerous holidaymakers who want to be in silence and enjoy harmony.

The next stop of our excursion route will be the village of Lefkara, which is located near Larnaca in the foothills of the Troodos mountain range. This is a famous village of Cyprus, which makes lace and various silverware. Narrow stone-paved streets, ancient temples and unique Cypriot architecture are what make Lefkara the most visited tourist village in Cyprus. Here we will walk and be sure to look into one of the taverns, where you can taste traditional Cypriot dishes and drinks. Lefkara can be replaced by one of the wonderful beaches of Ayia Napa or Protaras.

Next, we head to the easternmost part of Cyprus, take a look at Ayia Napa, where we visit the “Bridge of Lovers.” The bridge is a rock arch of natural origin, connected by one side to a hill on the shore, and the other to the sea. Then we will visit the open-air stone sculpture park in the vicinity of Ayia Napa. This park was established in 2014. The exhibits are mainly made of Cypriot limestone stone or marble. Now in the park there are more than 200 different sculptures, arranged randomly, without any thematic generalization. The next stop will be at the Sinner’s Bridge, a remarkable natural phenomenon in the gorge above the sea.
