Galactotrophus Monastery

Paphos

Description:

Galactotrofus Monastery is one of the oldest architectural monuments of Paphos. The date of construction is considered to be 1799. The building is built of stone, with arches and a tiled roof. The whole monastery is made in the Athos style and harmoniously blends with the surrounding natural atmosphere. The monastery is located at the foot of the mountains and at the intersection of two rivers. At this place, travelers and shepherds often stopped, who prayed to send them help or give blessings to the Virgin Mary.

The monastery is also open to all those seeking help and tourists. It can be reached by a tourist route from the center of Paphos.
