Day of Geologist of Kyrgyzstan

Description:

Sign of the Geological Service of Kyrgyzstan

Established by the Decree of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic of March 20, 1995 No. 89.

The territory of the Kyrgyz part of the Tien Shan is characterized by a pronounced tectonic zonation, reflecting the age difference of the folded systems forming it. According to the age of the main phases of tectogenesis, the Caledonian folded region of the Northern Tien Shan, the Hercynian folded region of the Southern Tien Shan and the folded region of the Middle Tien Shan separating them are distinguished, where both Caledonian and Hercynian tectonic movements manifested.

Metallogeny of Kyrgyzstan is distinguished by a wide variety of genetic associations of deposits, covering almost the entire elemental composition of the periodic system of D. I. Mendeleev. Several thousand deposits and manifestations of various minerals have been identified in Kyrgyzstan.

The main role in the structure of this region belongs to the sedimentary and volcanogenic strata of the middle and upper Paleozoic. Pre-Paleozoic rocks and intrusive bodies have subordinate significance. The main phase of folding is Upper Paleozoic. Granitoid magmatism is widely developed.

Kyrgyzstan is rich in hydrothermal resources. About 100 deposits of mineral waters, 30 sites of carbon dioxide water development, more than 50 manifestations of warm and hot waters, there are radon, sulfate, glandular and other types of waters. On four deposits of mineral and thermal waters (Jalal-Abad, Issyk-Ata, Ak-Suu, Jergalan), one radon thermal (Jety-Oguz) resorts are based. The therapeutic and table waters of eight deposits (Ak-Suu, Kara-Shoro, Jalal-Abad, Chatyr-Kul, Barbulak, Issyk-Ata, Furmanovskoye, Alamedin) are used for bottling. In some fields (Altyn-Arashan, Alamedin, Jilisu, Cholpon-Ata, Kurskoye) there are local recreation centers and sanatorium treatment.

Opportunities to increase bottling and export of environmentally friendly fresh and table-medical mineral waters are not limited.

In general, the prospects of Kyrgyzstan are not limited to these minerals and their deposits. The list of them can be expanded by carrying out search works in the direction of identifying both buried and hidden deposits of both the above and new types of mineral raw materials.

Traditionally, the best geologists receive state and departmental awards on this day.
