Kyrgyzstan is the only country in the world that celebrates this holiday as the Day of the Great October Socialist Revolution. November 7 – declared an official holiday and holiday.

Until the early 90s, it was the main holiday of the Soviet Union (which included the Kyrgyz SSR) and celebrated it in the USSR for two whole days - November 7 and 8. All these years, the day of November 7, the “red day of the calendar”, was marked by a military parade and a demonstration of workers in the central square, squares of regional cities.

The initiative to return the holiday belongs to the parliamentary faction of the Communist Party of Kyrgyzstan. The law was passed at the end of 2001 and was first celebrated on November 7, 2002.

Traditionally, on this day, on Bishkek square named after V.I. Lenin (Old Square), squares of regional centers, rallies are held, organized by the Party of Communists of Kyrgyzstan and the Communist Party of Kyrgyzstan with the laying of flowers at the monuments to the Leader of the world proletariat.

In 2003, the monument to Lenin, erected in 1984 in the central square “Alatoo” in Bishkek, was moved to Old Square in front of the Parliament building. A memorial dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the formation of the Kyrgyz SSR was also restored there - four restored steles are fixed with orders awarded to the republic in Soviet times. The old square was renamed Lenin Square.
