Day of Educational Worker of Kyrgyzstan

Description:

Main building of the Kyrgyz National University named after J. Balasagyn

Taking into account that the sphere of education is a priority direction of the state policy of the Kyrgyz Republic, recognizing the important role of education workers in the training and upbringing of the younger generation, the Government, by its Resolution No. 36 of February 5, 2008, declared the first Sunday of October an annual professional holiday - the Day of Education Workers of Kyrgyzstan.

At the same time, the decree of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic of May 23, 2006 No. 376 “On the establishment of the Day of the Worker of the System of Primary Professional Education of the Kyrgyz Republic” was declared invalid.

The day of the employee of the system of primary vocational education of the Kyrgyz Republic was established on April 15. On April 15, 1942, the Main Directorate of Labor Reserves was established in Kyrgyzstan, which marked the beginning of the system of primary vocational education of the Kyrgyz Republic. This day was celebrated only once, in 2007.

For the first time, the initiative to declare a national holiday for education workers in the Government was introduced by the Republican Party of Labor and Unity in 2006. But the government did not support this initiative. In September 2007, the Bishkek School of Tuters (BST) again raised this initiative and proposed once again to consider the establishment of a professional holiday in the republic for all education workers. In October of the same year, the Second Congress of Teachers of Kyrgyzstan, supporting the proposal of the BSHT, also recommended that the country's leadership establish a day of the national holiday of teachers.

For the first time, the professional holiday of education workers in the territory of Kyrgyzstan was established by the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of September 29, 1965 as Teacher’s Day. Since independence, it has been the only professional day not re-established under national law.

It is a holiday for more than 1.6 million workers of education - teachers of preschool institutions, teachers of secondary schools, lyceums, teachers of colleges, vocational schools, universities, teachers of out-of-school and other educational institutions, employees of the Ministry of Education and its structural units.

Today, the educational system of the Kyrgyz Republic consists of 465 kindergartens, 73 orphanages and boarding schools, 2,133 general education schools, 80 technical schools and schools, 47 higher educational institutions, 149 extracurricular institutions, as well as a large number of refresher courses.
