The day of the financial police officer of the Kyrgyz Republic was established by the Decree of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic dated February 17, 2005 No. 91, in order to form the traditions of the financial police.
On February 19, 1993, the Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic N60 “On the creation of special tax investigation units under the State Tax Inspectorate of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan” was signed, which laid the foundation for the development of the financial police of modern Kyrgyzstan.
In the following years, the financial police were repeatedly reorganized:
- Department of Tax Police under the Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic;
- Tax Police Department as part of the State Tax Inspectorate under the Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic;
- Department of Financial Police under the Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic;
- Department of Financial Police under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic;
- Financial Police Service of the Kyrgyz Republic;
- Financial police under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic;
Since June 10, 2008 - Financial Police Service of the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to the Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic “On the Financial Police Service of the Kyrgyz Republic” dated June 10, 2008 No. 200, in accordance with the Constitutional Law of the Kyrgyz Republic “On the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic” and the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic “On Amendments to the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic “On the Structure of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic” dated June 9, 2008 No. 112, it is established that the Financial Police Service of the Kyrgyz Republic is removed from the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and is another executive body with the status of a law enforcement body, whose activities are aimed at identifying, preventing, suppressing, disclosing and investigating economic types of crimes committed in the Kyrgyz Republic.
The Financial Police Service of the Kyrgyz Republic was established in order to improve the effectiveness of combating economic types of crimes, streamlining the functions and powers of state bodies operating in this area, and its activities are aimed at protecting small and medium-sized businesses from unreasonable inspections by law enforcement agencies.
The tasks of the Financial Police Service are: identification and investigation, including official crimes, which are related to economic types of crimes, including offenses committed by business entities in the course of their economic activities, including those related to bribery and extortion of bribes by government officials from business entities.
Every year, on this day, the best employees of the service are awarded state and departmental awards.
