Great fasting during the month of Ramadan (or otherwise Ramadan), called in Arabic saum (in Persian - ruza, rouse, in Turkic - uraza), is mandatory for all adults, healthy and ritually pure Muslims. Ritual purity (tahara) in Islam is very important when performing religious rites. Takhara is not only about maintaining external purity and tidyness, but in the religious-ethical, cultic sense it means liberation from everything that defiles. Those who are temporarily relieved of fasting or have broken it accidentally should fast after the end of the month of Ramadan for lost days. Voluntary fasts beyond the obligatory ones are recommended mainly in the months of Rajab, Shaaban, Shawwal and Muharram.
According to the canons of Islam, girls from 9 years old and boys from 12 can fast. It is not recommended to fast pregnant and lactating women, sick.
In Orozo Ait, mandatory general prayers are established, which can take place both in the mosque and in special open areas - prayer. In the morning, before attending prayers, people perform all purification ceremonies, wear festive clothes. It is recommended to eat dates or other sweets.
During the holy month, from morning to sunset, Muslims are obliged to refrain from drinking, smoking and sensual pleasures. During Ramadan, all believers strive to do pious deeds and refrain from sinful deeds. It was in this month that the first verses of the first Surah were revealed to the Prophet Muhammad.
In all mosques of Kyrgyzstan and on the Old Lenin Square in Bishkek, Muslims participate in the morning ait-maze, which is also attended by representatives of state authorities, diplomatic missions of states accredited in Bishkek.
The Supreme Mufti of Kyrgyzstan congratulates all Kyrgyzstanis on the great Islamic holiday and at the end of the festive prayer calls on believers to be tolerant, live in harmony and unity, show mercy and mercy to each other.
