People's Republic of China

Day of the People's Liberation Army of China

Description:

I want to be a soldier!
The People’s Liberation Army (PLA) was established on August 1, 1927.

The PLA received its current name in 1946, before that it bore the names of the Workers' and Peasants' Revolutionary Army, the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army, the Eighth Army and the New Fourth Corps.

The PLA includes the Navy, Air Force, Land Army and Technical Forces.

In recent years, only thematic publications in newspapers and magazines and events organized at the government level remind of this holiday, although in the past the anniversary of the formation of the party and the army was celebrated very widely.
