Dragon Festival in China

Description:

Dragons are central to Chinese mythology
Dragons are central to Chinese mythology. Unlike European dragons, usually depicted as evil and bloodthirsty, the Chinese dragon was, as a rule, a creature of kindness, grace, gracious to people. For this, the Chinese loved their dragons and gave them high honors.

In honor of this main mythological creature, the International Kite Festival is held annually in the Chinese city of Weifan, which is attended by more than 1,000 people from more than 30 countries. Snakes are called purely conventional, in fact they have a thousand shapes, sizes and colors, and snakes are only a small part of them.

The program of the festival includes an international competition and the Chinese championship on paper snakes, a visit to the Museum of Paper Snakes, a demonstration of the manufacture of snakes by Chinese craftsmen.
