Labor Day (Labor Day)
Description:
The appearance of Labor Day in China can be attributed to 1918, when the revolutionary intelligentsia began to distribute leaflets about this day in Shanghai, Suzhou, Hangzhou and other places. On May 1, 1920, the first Labor Day demonstrations in China took place in Beijing, Shanghai and several other cities.
In December 1949, the decree of the PRC government declared May 1 an official holiday.
Today, for the Chinese, the weekend week on May 1 is, above all, a good opportunity to relax and meet with family and friends. The theaters host festive performances, at various venues and on television there are performances and concerts.
People with families, friends, loved ones attend festive events, travel to other cities, go out to nature, go to the movies, go shopping or just meet with those who have not been seen for a long time.
