Shower Walks: Open Your Chongqing

Description:

Welcome to Chongqing, the city of “double celebration” and the capital of fog! This is a huge metropolis, perched on the mountains, a modern wonder of the world and one of the most unusual cities in the world. Its history goes back 3,000 years – it has seen years of oblivion and destruction, moments of triumph when it became its capital, and epochs of glory. Today it is a unique metropolis that excites the imagination and gives unforgettable impressions to everyone who visits it.

I invite you to book a sightseeing tour at an attractive price, during which you can feel the real spirit of this amazing city. It will be an immersion in the world of contrasts – here ancient traditions meet the future, and mountain landscapes merge with the rhythm of the metropolis.

You will discover a city with an incredible history. Walk through the mysterious streets where time seems to have stopped. Climb the observation decks with dizzying views of rivers and endless urban landscapes.

In the evening, you will meet with real magic - when thousands of lights are lit, and the city is transformed into a light extravaganza. You will see impressive architecture floating above the water, try the famous local cuisine with its unique flavors and tastes.

We will talk about the most important thing – the life of the city and its people. You will learn not what is written on the Internet, but what is really interesting:

- How modern Chongqing lives among skyscrapers and ancient stairs: why the subway is built here through residential buildings, where locals meet and how life is arranged in the maze city;

- About food as a part of culture: how to choose a real hotpot, in which establishments are fed at home, and what tastes determine the character of Chongqing people;

- About history without pathos: how the gates of Tunyuanmen and the streets of Shanchengxiang preserved the spirit of the old city, and what it means to live in a place where each stone remembers several eras;

- On the contrasts that create the face of the city: why traditional teahouses coexist with neon signs, and how Hongyadong became a symbol of this unity of opposites.

The main thing is that we will talk about what worries you. You can turn off the route to go to your favorite courtyard, or linger at the observation deck if the view took your breath. Our goal is to help you find your own Chongqing, one that will stay with you even after you return home.

Excursion route

Lohans Temple.

An active Buddhist monastery located in the heart of Chongqing. Its “highlight” lies in the sharp contrast between the ancient buildings and the skyscrapers surrounding it, making it one of the most photogenic and symbolic sights of the city. The Hall of Five Hundred Arhats is the heart of the temple. There are 500 sculptures of arhats – beings who have achieved enlightenment. Each figure has its own expression and posture.

Liziba Metro Station

The station in Chongqing, where a subway train passes directly through a 19-storey residential building. This is not a special effect, but an engineering solution: the monorail was designed before the building, and in order not to change the track, the house was built around the overpass. Lizib station is a good example of how a metropolis solves the problems of space scarcity with innovative solutions.

elinpark

Historical Park in Chongqing, which is famous for panoramic views of the city and the confluence of two rivers. Originally a private garden, it is now a great place to experience history and enjoy nature. The park combines natural landscapes, rich history and traditional Chinese architecture. Another reason to come to Elinpark is the view from a height to the city. Kansheng Tower is the highest point in the park, offering breathtaking 360-degree views of the confluence of the Yangtze and Jialingjiang rivers, as well as the Chongqing skyscrapers.

Shibati Historic District

The historic district in the center of Chongqing, whose name literally translates as “Eighteen Steps”. It is one of the most famous and atmospheric places in the city. The area was one of the key centers of old Chongqing. Its name is associated with the main attraction - a stone staircase, which was divided into 18 spans. Shibati was the back of the city, a place where the daily life of ordinary people boiled. Today it is not just a museum, but a lively space where they try to recreate the spirit of old Chongqing.

Jiefangbei Square and District

Jiefangbei is not just a district, but a symbol of modern Chongqing, its financial, commercial and cultural epicenter. Its history is the story of its transformation from a military symbol to a symbol of an economic miracle. Today, Jiefangbei is the business center of Western China. Here are the regional headquarters of the largest banks, law and consulting firms, IT companies. On the pedestrian streets around the monument are concentrated boutiques of world luxury brands (Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Prada, etc.), huge shopping centers and flagship stores of local giants. This is a must-visit place for any tourist. Here you can feel the pulse of the metropolis: an incredible concentration of skyscrapers, bright neon signs, a frantic rhythm of life and the famous Chongqing cuisine in restaurants for every taste.

Hunyadong Evening

A magical castle built on the slope of a cliff, floors going into the sky. It is illuminated by thousands of lights that are reflected in the waters of the great Yangtze River. Welcome to Hongyadong, the most fabulous and photogenic place in Chongqing! This is a huge complex of 11-storey buildings built by tiers on a steep hillside. On one side it stands on the street, and on the other - hovers over the river. This is a place where fairy tales come to life, where you can lose track of time and take the most impressive shots from your trip.
