75号 Pu Li Jie, Shi Zhong Qu, Jinan, Shandong, China, 250,000

Description:

Five Dragon Lake is located west of the historic center of Jinan and north of the Baotu springs. The lake is a culturally significant place in Jinan. The lake is fed by artesian karst springs of Shandong Province. It is the most famous source lake among the 72 others located in Jinan.

The springs that feed the Five Dragon Lake are a group of 28 Chinese cultural heritage sites, among which the Tianjin, Ximenji, Dongminji, Yuyyi, Jing and Kongmin springs are widely known. Moreover, the water contained in the lake circulates among most sources of Jinan.

Legend has it that the formation of the lake is associated with the Tang Dynasty, when this place was their temporary residence. It is said that the springs feeding the lake were formed from tears shed in the house of the famous Chinese general Qin Shibao.

In 1985, a public park was created around the lake, and the landscape around the lake and springs was completely restored and cleaned.
