About the company:

The museum is located in Jinan and is the main museum of Shandong Province. Its predecessor was the Waidu Museum, which was established by Baptist missionary John Sutherland Whitewright in Qingchou in 1887. He moved to Jinan only in 1904 and was renamed Guangji Yuan. In 1942, the Red Swastika Society took over the museum and added exhibits. In 1991, construction of a new part of the museum in the southern part of Jinan began. The modern museum opened to the public on November 16, 2010.

The museum houses a collection of more than 210,000 historical artifacts. Major historical collections include relics from the Neolithic Davenkou and Longshan cultures, bronze artifacts from the Shang and Zhou dynasties, stone carvings from the Han dynasty, and paintings from the Ming and Qing dynasties. In the section of natural science there are skeletons of fossilized creatures.
