Yellow Sea
Description:
The Yellow Sea is the marginal sea of the Pacific Ocean off the east coast of Asia. The sea is so named because of the color of the water obtained from the sediments of Chinese rivers and dust storms.
The area of the Yellow Sea is 416 thousand square kilometers. The Yellow Sea washes the shores of three states: China, North Korea and the Republic of Korea. Long ago, the peoples of the Far East made numerous voyages to the shores of Japan, Taiwan, and Vietnam. The first European to visit the shores of the Yellow Sea was the famous traveler Marco Polo. During the Russo-Japanese War of 1904-1905, on February 8 and August 10, 1904, battles between Russian and Japanese squadrons took place in the Yellow Sea.
There are several resort areas on the Yellow Sea. In China, these are Dalian (suitable for lovers of “urban” holidays), Weihai, Beidaihe (a good place for a family holiday) and Qingdao (it is often called the “Pearl of the Yellow Sea” because of the beautiful beaches and modern hotels).
Also on the Yellow Sea there are several famous resort areas of South Korea: Kanhwado Island (attracts with the beauty of its nature and historical monuments), Chebudo Island and Jeju Island. Among tourists, health tours in the resorts of the Yellow Sea are the most popular.
