Sugar Industry Museum in Taiwan
No.24 Tangchang Road, Qiaotou, Kaohsiung, Taiwan
About the company:
The Sugar Industry Museum is the first museum of its kind in Asia. It is located in the northern suburb of Kaohsiung County. Its history dates back to the Japanese occupation, when it operated as a sugar mill before becoming abandoned and then eventually restored to its current state. The locals love to visit this museum and are very proud of it.
Near the entrance to the museum is a train, which for a fee you can ride. It was here that the Taiwan Sugar Corporation called Taishugar was founded. Visitors to the museum will get acquainted with the process of making sugar and will be able to try it. A visit to the sugar museum won’t be complete unless you try a delicious dessert of red beans and ice cream.
A tour of the Sugar Industry Museum ends with the launch of lanterns into the sky of Taiwan. Most tourists write the same wish - to return to this unusual and beautiful museum.
