Description:

Kailash is a cult Tibetan mountain, in Hinduism it is considered the cosmic center of the universe and the residence of the powerful god Shiva. To this day, the mountain is unconquered, which gives rise to many myths and speculations.

Getting to Kailas is not easy – the mountain is located in one of the most inaccessible areas of Tibet. Nevertheless, pilgrims from all over the world flock here. It is believed that performing a ritual walk around the mountain (bark) relieves all earthly sins. If you repeat this action 108 times, the person guarantees the transition to Nirvana after death.

Since ancient times, there have been disputes about the height of Kailas. Originally it was believed that the mountain has a height of 6,666 meters (a sacred number for Buddhists), but many scientists claim that Kailash rises "only" 6,638 meters.
