Wax Museum
Andingmen Main Street, Dongcheng District, Beijing 100011, China
About the company:
The Wax Museum in Beijing, one of the largest in China, presents the history of the Ming dynasty. In the museum halls reconstructed plots on the theme of the most vivid episodes from the life of emperors and ordinary residents, each of which allows you to get an idea not only about a particular historical period, but also about the nature of the rulers themselves. Wax figures of historical figures are made very realistically, ranging from clothes to the smallest details. People don’t just talk to each other, they live here.
The exposition of the museum of wax figures can be divided into three categories: historical events, episodes of life or death. Looking at them, it becomes clear that life in and around the Imperial Palace was both cruel and “fun.” Here emperors and officials, concubines and nobles, tax collectors and the poor - ragged and mired in terrible need and poverty. The country is on the verge of collapse, and the imperial court is drowning in luxury. You see the raids of the Mongols, ravaged villages, battles and assaults, the whirlpool of city quarters, and all this seemed to freeze, as if someone pressed the pause button. A real immersion in the atmosphere of that distant time.
