Not far from the center of Sanya city in Hainan province there is a park called “Deer Turning Its Head”, in the center of which a mountain rises. The park got its name in honor of a Chinese legend: once a young hunter pursued a runaway deer for a long time. Suddenly, the deer turned around and at the same moment turned into a beautiful girl who later became the wife of a hunter. Based on this legend, a stone monument is installed on the top of the mountain.
Of course, the main attraction of the park is the deer nursery. The animals live in relative freedom and even run up to park visitors for a treat. Near the park there is an ethnic village where you can get acquainted with the ancient customs and traditions of the locals.
