Isin - county of Wuxi urban district, Jiangsu province, China
About the company:
Located in the urban district of Wuxi in Jiangsu province, the city of Yixing is famous for its unique clays. From Isin clay Tzu Sha for many centuries made dishes (mainly kettles), which became famous all over the world. No wonder the name of the city is translated as “suitable to create”. But not only as clay lies the secret of the Isin masters, but also in the ideal, passed the century-long test of technology.
As in any self-respecting city, Isin has its own museum - a museum of kettles, which presents ancient objects literally collected from fragments, as well as products of modern masters. It is amazing how small the changes have been over the centuries.
Isin kettles come in different types: round, square and the most bizarre shapes. The Isin Museum exhibits dozens of kettles, ranging from a kettle in the form of a camera and an antique iron to a widespread gourd pumpkin. There are big kettles the size of a bucket, there are miniature kettles. Some halls are dedicated to celadons, as well as glazed ceramics, but these expositions are inferior in volume to the collection of kettles.
