Monastery of the sect of Red-happed people - Zhunbu

20 metres from the foot of Everest

Description:

Junbu is the highest mountain monastery in the world. It is located at an altitude of 5200 meters above sea level, 20 kilometers from the highest mountain in the world Everest. The monastery was founded in 1899 by a sect of red hats and was considered an ideal secluded place for meditation (in fact, it remains so to this day). Near the monastery there is a stone stupa in which monks and pilgrims meditated.

From the site of the monastery there is a beautiful view of the surrounding area and the mountain itself. Experienced travelers say that here you can look directly into the face of the harsh Jomalungma (the second name of Everest).
