Sea museum

Carrera 4 No. 22-61, Bogota, Colombia

Description:

The Museum of the Sea in Bogota has recreated the Caribbean ecosystem within its walls and has an excellent collection of marine vegetation.

In addition to the collection of vegetation in the museum you can see a permanent exhibition of corals and huge dioramas depicting the living world of the sea. The museum has more than 1,000 marine specimens, of which only a small part is made of fiberglass or other artificial materials.

The Sea Museum is part of the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the Maritime University in Bogotá and is divided into 4 sections: underwater, land, curiosities and robotics. All sections have guided tours, each beginning with a description of the main ecosystems shown in the museum.
