Lake Laguna de Tota
Description:
Lake Laguna de Tota is located in the Eastern Cordilleras at an altitude of 3110 meters above sea level. It is one of the largest lakes in Colombia, formed in the Paleozoic period of history.
The area of the reservoir is 44 square kilometers. On the lake there are 3 small islands, where you can ride on a rented boat.
The lake is known for its diving services and snow-white beaches. Every year, a sports fishing championship is organized on the lake, as there are many rainbow trout in the waters of the lake. Near the beach of Playa Blanca is an ancient sanctuary of the Muiskas Indians.
