This is where most of the city tours begin.
The center of the square is decorated with an equestrian statue of the first president and liberator of Colombia - Simon Bolivar, and around the square there are buildings known throughout the country: the National Capitol, the Cathedral of Catedral Primada de Colombia, the Palace of Justice, the Palace of the Archbishop.
On the square there are always a lot of walking residents of hundreds of Bogotá, and hundreds of pigeons, which the locals feed.
On the square overlooks the facade of the President of Colombia. Come to Bolivar Square at 17 o'clock and you will see a colorful ceremony of changing the guard of honor at the Presidential Palace.
On holidays, the square is magnificent, as befits in Latin America, decorated, especially at Christmas: plastic Christmas trees, garlands, tinsel. Citizens in honor of holidays with love decorate the statue of Bolivar.
