Cathedral in the city of Pasto

Calle 17, Pasto, Colombia | Carrera 26 No. 17 - 23

Description:

In the south of Colombia is the picturesque town of Pasto, and in the heart of the town is the Cathedral. It is visited by many Catholics in Colombia and Ecuador.

The cathedral is a great example of religious art - made in the Gothic style, it is a truly impressive and grandiose building with a facade of red brick, darkened from time to time.

In the center of the cathedral is a very interesting atrium - light and cozy, permeated with sunlight. Inside the cathedral there is a richly decorated carved wooden altar, and on the walls are colorful icons and paintings. On the roof of the cathedral there are sculptures of angels.

The cathedral itself was founded in the 15th century, was subjected to several destructions, but is now safely restored and open to visitors.
