The observation deck of Sebastian de Bellalcazar
Description:
The site is named after the founder of the city, Captain Sebastian de Bellalcazar, who in 1536 founded the city of Cali in western Colombia.
The monument to Sebastian Belalcazar was built to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the founding of the city by Spanish avant-garde sculptor Victorio Macho. The monument is located on a hill on the northeastern edge of the city.
From the observation deck at the monument to the west and south, an impressive panorama of the city opens.
It is located high in the hills, which offer a magnificent view of the city. Interestingly, the face of the conquistador looks towards Kali, and his finger points to the opposite side of the valley.
Tourists who prefer silence like to sit on the banks of the river Kali. This is one of the most peaceful areas in the city, on the banks of the river there are cozy restaurants and an art museum.
