Tour to Lake Guatavita and Salt Cathedral in Sipakira
Description:
In the first part of the tour we go to Lake Guatavita, which is associated with the legend of El Dorado. The lake is located an hour and a short drive from Bogota, in the crater of an extinct volcano, at an altitude of 3100 meters above sea level. After a walk around the lake, we will visit the village of Guatavita, which is 15 minutes from the lake. This is a very touristic settlement of Colombia, where we walk along the stone pavements, and get acquainted with the architecture of snow-white houses, which it abounds.
In the second part of the tour we go to Sipakira, where we visit the Salt Cathedral, one of the most beautiful and unusual architectural structures of Colombia, which is considered the first wonder of local architecture.
