Juan Castro Blanco National Park

Description:

Park Juan Castro Blanco refers to those parks that you will not find in ordinary guidebooks. And although this place is only an hour away from the capital, from all the popular tourist locations to go to it quite far. The full name of this stunningly beautiful place with untouched nature is the Juan Castro Blanco Water National Park. "Why water?" you ask. It's simple. Juan Castro Blanco Park is an important source of drinking water. Three mountain peaks feed five major rivers. Platanar, Toro, Aguas Zarcas, Tres Amigos and La Vieja generate 15% of the country’s electricity and supply water to 105 settlements! But this is not the only reason for this name. There are so many water attractions in this park that one trip will not get around them all. These are thermal springs, rivers, lakes, and incredibly beautiful lagoons Pozo Verde and El Congo, and even waterfalls! And here you can see the tapir, the "bird of happiness" quetzal and even the puma. Also on the territory of this park there are four volcanoes - active Platanar (2183 m), sleeping Porvenir (2267 m), Viejo and Canyon del Rio Toro. I would like to pay special attention to the Pozo Verde lagoon. "Green pool." If the path to many waterfalls in the park is extremely difficult, then absolutely everyone can get to the emerald lagoon. Pozo Verde is especially beautiful when the sun comes out. Sunlight seems to awaken everything around, and this place becomes like footage from a fairy tale. It's magical! Are you still wondering if you should visit this magical place?
