Monument to Francisco de Albear

Description:

The monument to Francisco de Albear (Cuba) is a landmark on the territory of a small square, which can be reached by reaching the end of Obispo Street by public transport. Installed in 1895, the monument is dedicated to a well-known military engineer in the country, who became famous for developing an aqueduct in the XIX century, supplying water to the houses of Havana. The sculpture, majestically towering on the pedestal, is surrounded by a special decorative fence and shrub.

The creator of one of the popular tourist attractions was the talented Cuban architect Joce Villat Caavedra. As the main material for the manufacture of the figure of the famous engineer and pedestal, pure white Carrara marble was chosen. The decoration of the pedestal is grooved symbols, ornaments and a commemorative wreath.
