Two-day journey to the west of the island
Description:
Our journey to the mountains of Sierra de los Organos and Sierra del Rosario, declared a World Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO, will begin with the Las Terracas Ecological Reserve, whose hillsides are buried in tropical greenery and fortified with terraces. There you will get acquainted with the spring waters of the St. Juan River and natural pools of sources of clean, cold sulfurous water, and for those who wish, a water walk on the lake on a paddle boat and a rope stretched over the lake and forest, from the height of which you can see this tropical corner of Cuba. From Las Terracas we will go to Soroa, a town built specifically for tourists. The main attractions of this area are the Angel Jump waterfall on the Manantiales and Orquideario rivers, where in a collection of 700 species of orchids, 250 are found only in Cuba. And also, those who wish can take a horse ride in the rainforest. After that, we will go to Viñales, where we will spend the night the next morning to fully enjoy the beauty of the landscapes of the Viñales Valley and explore this natural wonder, declared a national treasure of Cuba. There you will see a fabulous cave, Cueva del Indio, sail on a motorboat on an underground river, visit a tobacco plantation, where you will learn everything about tobacco production, and the end of this part of the journey will spend on the white sand of Cayo Hutia beach.
