Las Terracas and Soroa
Description:
Las Terracas is located in the west of the island, in the mountains of the Sierra del Rosario, declared by UNESCO a world biosphere reserve. This is a real ecological reserve, the hillsides of which are covered with lush tropical greenery and fortified with terraces. There you will get acquainted with the spring waters of the St. Juan River and natural pools of sources of clean, cold sulfurous water, in which you can swim. And those who wish can ride paddle boats on the lake and “fly” on a rope over the lake and over the rainforest.
The road to Soroa, a small village in the rainforest, goes among cultivated fields and villages. There you will meet the Angel and Orquideario Jump waterfall with one of the world’s largest collections of orchids, a third of which can be seen only in Cuba. And also, those who wish can take a horse ride through the rainforest in the vicinity of Soroa.
