Church of Iglesia de Santa Elvira

Description:

The Church of Iglesia de Santa Elvira is the only Catholic church in Varadero. It dates back to 1938. Wooden stone building in colonial architectural style. It looks very modest, outside, inside. Located in the center of the settlement. White stone walls, roof of tiles, double windows and doors – this is how this temple looks. A small horseshoe belfry is located at the top of the roof, above its entrance cross. On the central floor is an inscription in three languages: “We believe in love.” There are few visitors to the church, locals consider religion to be the lot of the rich. There is a monastery in the church. Services are conducted in Spanish. You can get from Havana by plane, in the city this attraction is very easy to find.
