Liberation Tower
Description:
The Liberation Tower is the tallest structure in Kuwait, measuring 372 meters high.
Its original name was the Kuwait Telecommunications Tower, which began construction in 1990 before Iraq's attack on Kuwait. Built at that time, the structure was not damaged, and after the defeat of Saddam Hussein's army in 1991, its construction was continued.
In 1993, its name was changed to Liberation Tower. It is considered a symbol of the liberation of Kuwait and a unique sign of the country’s rebirth. Today it is one of the tallest telecommunications towers in the world (5th place) and the tallest in the Middle East.
This magnificent building was inaugurated on March 10, 1996. The Liberation Tower is about 40 meters above the Eiffel Tower. Its facade from the base to a height of 308 meters is lined with ceramic tiles. The tower and the telecommunications complex are divided into three working areas. They include a public communication center with a dignitary hall, a revolving observation deck and a restaurant, adjacent buildings and equipment. Above the observation deck there are 6 floors with offices. At the base of the tower is a parking lot for 230 cars. For the convenience of visitors, there are 18 high-speed elevators, which are able to fly up and down in a matter of seconds.
