Museum of Islamic Art

Gulf Street, Kuwait, Kuwait

About the company:

The Museum of Islamic Art is a new museum of contemporary painting and sculpture by Kuwaiti and Arab artists. Originally there was a men's school in 1935, then a women's school in 1938. In 2003, the National Council of Culture, Arts and Letters opened the building as a museum.

The Museum of Modern Art contains a collection of fine works, some dating back to the 1950s. The museum aims to connect Kuwaiti artists closer to the Arab world to represent Kuwait in the arts. In addition to paintings, the museum contains clay works, statues and sculptures. Paintings and other works of decorative and applied art are displayed in five large halls, which are located on two floors of this museum. This magnificent museum displays several hundred artworks.
