Buddha Park

Hat Kham, Mueang Nong Khai, Nong Khai 43000

Description:

Buddha Park is located near the capital of Laos Vientiane. It was created in 1958 by the design of Bunlya Sulilat. On the other side of the Mekong River there is another sculpture park - Sala Keoku. It was built 20 years after Buddha Park.

The vivid sculptural images of the park are inspired by two religions - Buddhism and Hinduism. The park is not very large in area and is simply replete with sculptural compositions of different size and plot. Near the entrance there is a building in the form of a large round head, the entrance to which is made in the form of an open mouth. The building has several floors, on each floor there are sculptures on different subjects.

The sculptures are made of concrete. These unusual, bright and sometimes frightening images do not leave anyone indifferent.
