Crushing the Day of Nazism and Commemorating the Victims of World War II

Description:

More than half of the population left the front and did not return.
For Latvia and the Latvians, World War II was a time of great suffering.

Both Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union violated international law by mobilizing the population of Latvia into their armed forces.

Approximately 200,000 Latvian soldiers were called up for service. About half of them (100,000) were killed in battle.
