Large port of Liepaja

Anyone who looks at the map of Latvia will see a place where they want to build a port – the city of Liepaja. It is one of the largest ports in Latvia and perhaps the only place where the port has appeared before the city.

The port city appeared here in the early 13th century and due to its successful location, it began to develop rapidly. At the moment, the port of Liepaja is the largest seaport in Latvia and provides communication with all the largest seaports in Europe. Thousands of tons of cargo and thousands of passengers pass through the sea gates of the city every day, many of whom linger in the city to see local sights.
