Carosta Prison
4 Invalī du Street, Liepā ja, LV-3402, Latvija
Description:
The building was built in 1900 and was used as a prison for almost a century. The walls of this building saw officers of the Russian Empire, political prisoners, deserters and many others. By 1997, the building could no longer serve as a prison for a number of reasons (new rules of detention of prisoners, dilapidated building), so it was decided to turn this place into a museum for fans of extreme recreation and paranormal phenomena.
Within the walls of this prison, gloomy since the beginning of construction, more than one hundred people died, even more were tortured, and as a result, the building is simply filled with spirits and paranormal phenomena. The most famous ghost here is the White Lady of Cell 18. She often likes to play tricks - slapping doors, unscrewing light bulbs, running through the corridors, but she does not like it when someone stays in her cell. The last prisoner stayed in cell 18 exactly overnight, after which the poor man went mad, and no one else was put in the cell. You can stay in this museum all night as a prisoner, so you can take a chance, and maybe the White Lady will be more kind to you.
If you don’t like such an extreme, then you can just get into the skin of a criminal and better understand how they lived in this prison.
And if you don’t like it, you can simply see the exhibits of the museum, which include instruments of torture, biographies of some prisoners, various shackles and personal items of criminals.
