About the company:

The Liepaja Museum of History and Art is located in the Latvian city of Liepaja. It is located in an ancient mansion on Kurmajas Avenue, in which, in addition to the museum exposition, original interiors with wooden furniture, fireplaces and stained glass windows are of interest. The architect and designer was Ernest von Ine. In his project, special attention was paid to the hall with a gallery decorated with carved wooden railings by the famous carver Michelis Pancox.

The museum collection was founded by two societies: the Liepaja Society of Antiquities, founded by German citizens in 1911, and the Liepaja Society of Antiquities, whose collection formed the basis of the future museum. Today in the collections of the Liepaja Museum of History and Art more than 110,000 items of storage. The special value of the museum is the archaeological collection and many items of ethnographic value. Combining the functions of a local history museum and an art gallery, it constantly hosts city art exhibitions.
