Aglona and her heart are inseparably connected with the Aglona Catholic Church, the center of Latvian Catholicism and a shrine of world importance. In 1980, the church was awarded the title of "small basilica", and at the moment it is the only basilica of Latvia. King Jesus Mountain is a unique sculptural complex that was opened in 2006.
