Munchausen Museum
Duntes Manor, Salacgriva Territory, Latvia
About the company:
Munchausen Museum is located in Dunte, on the picturesque Vidzeme coast, 8 kilometers from Saulkrasti and about 55 kilometers from Riga, near the Via Baltica highway. This is one of the most visited museums in Latvia, with its unusual exhibits it attracts both local and foreign tourists.
In the room of Munchausen’s wife Jacobina, the boudoir of a lady of the XVIII century was recreated. At the door of the house, visitors are met by the baron himself (his wax figure) with just caught game. In the rooms of the museum there are numerous exhibits: hunting trophies and hunting pipes, knives, weapons. The exposition of the museum is regularly replenished with new, unusual exhibits.
On the second floor of the museum are exhibited figures of Latvian celebrities. For example, Maestro Raymond Pauls, athlete Ulyana Semenova, former President of the country Karlis Ulmanis.
