Baptist Church
54 Matera Street, Jelgava, LV-3008
Description:
Until the middle of the XIX century, there was no Baptist community in Latvia. The first meeting of the church took place only in 1870 in Jelgava. A few years later, the first Baptist church was built there. It lasted until 1986, when it was completely demolished and rebuilt. It is a modest temple, sheathed outside with boards. A new building has been built next to the church, where all community meetings and social and cultural events are held.
