Lutheran Church
ooh Baznicas, 13, Dubulty, Jurmala, Latvia
Description:
The Lutheran Church in the Jurmal district of Dubulty is located on Baznicas Street in 13. It was built in 1907 by architect Wilhelm Boxlaf. The building is a combination of modern elements with features of national romanticism. A feature of the church is the reproduction of some details of medieval architecture, which is very unusual for churches of this period. The main tower of the church is very similar to the donjon of medieval castles, to which the rest of the building adjoins. In the same style, the altar inside the church is decorated. In the center stands a cross lined with limestone blocks. Only organ balconies and choirs are decorated in the tree, which is characteristic of the style of Northern European romanticism of the late Middle Ages.
