Description:

The building where the city council of Vaduz – the capital of the Principality of Liechtenstein – meets is located in the city center and is called the Town Hall. Vaduz Town Hall was opened to the city and municipal council in November 1933. Its construction lasted almost two years under the leadership of the author of the project, architect F. Recle. It was his project that became the winner in the project competition, which was held in early 1932.

The building of the town hall has a rectangular shape and is stylized as an architectural monument of the Western Middle Ages. The high gabled roof and coat of arms of the city on the east side of the town hall, carved of stone, installed here in 1983. The coat of arms donated to the commune by the Prince of Liechtenstein is located on the northwestern side of the town hall. The interior design of the meeting room is also interesting. They're painted by Y. Zeger painted images of the Grand Dukes of Liechtenstein since the Middle Ages, as well as the rulers of the principality and the capital's mayors.
